Warhammer - Big Business For Small Retailers | UK

Games Workshop is the most successful miniatures company in the world. But what's in it for independent retailers? Here are a few key reasons why shops like yours join the Games Workshop Retail Network.

[This article is specifically for our UK readership]

If you’ve seen the news recently you may well have heard about the great success independent retailers are having with Games Workshop. So what’s the story?

Founded almost 50 years ago, we’re the most successful miniatures company in the world, with an ever-expanding range of amazing fantasy games, models and accessories.

Along the way, we’ve traditionally worked in partnership with independent model and toy shops, book stores and many other businesses. We are constantly looking for more to join our Retailer Network

What does Games Workshop do?

We make the best tabletop games and plastic miniatures in the world, as well as paints, brushes and tools to go with them. While our range of products is vast (and growing all the time), it’s fairly simple to understand. In fact, the majority of our products fall under the following ranges:

Warhammer: Age of Sigmar is a fantasy game that puts a fresh spin on classic archetypes like elves (Aelves) and orcs (Orruks), as well as noble warriors and wizards.

Warhammer: 40,000 is a hard-edged, sci-fi setting, taking place far into the future. This is where our most recognisable characters – the elite and mighty Space Marines – do battle against mankind’s countless foes.

Citadel is the brand for the high-quality paints, brushes and tools that help bring our Warhammer miniatures to life. Assembling and painting models is a huge and popular part of the hobby.

Warhammer isn’t just a game, it’s a hobby

The core Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000 tabletop games power the Warhammer hobby. Fans collect and build armies of miniatures in their chosen factions, paint them and can then do battle with their friends.

Typically, they’ll enter into one (or both!) of these worlds by buying a Starter Set available at a variety of price options. This flexibility means that Warhammer is open to kids and adults alike.

Warhammer appeals to gamers, collectors and modellers of all ages.

A key part of the Warhammer hobby is collecting and painting miniatures.

From there, it’s up to players to decide how they proceed. They might want to add new units to their chosen collection, with each faction featuring a dazzling array of beautifully sculpted miniatures, from mighty heroes to terrifying dragons and towering war machines.

As well as these miniatures, we also have an array of supporting paints, brushes, tools and glues, including sets for beginners. All are available at a variety of different price points.

Why should you get involved?

So, that’s who we are and what we do. But what’s in it for you? Here are a few key reasons why shops like yours join the Games Workshop Retailer Network.
