Warhammer Underworlds Gnarlwood is the first installment in the next and sixth season of Warhammer Underworlds.
Aligning with the overarching narrative’s of Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Warcry, Warhammer Underworlds: Gnarlwood dives into The Gnarlwood, a carnivorous forest right in the heart of Ghur, the Realm of Beasts, this boxed set provides everything a new player will need in order to play the game, including two all-new Warbands each seeking the treasures that lie at the heart of the bestial woodland.
This set includes The Gnarlspirit Pack, a band of 4 marauding Slaves to Darkness Darkoath warriors each in league with different totemic beast-spirit patrons, and The Sons of Velmorn, a Soulblight Gravelords’ warband of a Wight King and his Grave Guard bodyguard, all cursed into ever-living undeath, for a total of 9 push-fit Citadel Miniatures.
Warhammer Underworlds: Gnarlwood also includes 2 gaming boards, 114 tokens, 11 dice and 141 cards.
Warhammer Underworlds: Gnarlwood is the culmination of the ongoing support and focus on the now fully integrated ‘Rivals’ format of play that was first introduced with Harrowdeep, last year.
Streamlining the product offer more than ever before, thanks to the new Open, Shuffle, Play ideology, Warhammer Underworlds has never been easier to pick up. Perfect for all fans of Warhammer Underworlds, the barrier to entry has never been lower for new customers. Containing each Warbands’ own Rivals Deck, the Gnarlwood box also contains 2 further Rivals Decks which either Warband can play with.
Alongside the launch of Warhammer Underworlds: Gnarlwood also sees the launch of a new Organised Play format, Nemesis, which enables every player – new or experienced – to utilise just two Rivals Decks from which to construct their warbands’ deck for use in games. This format not only offers an entirely new challenge for experienced players to engage with, it also introduces the concept of deck building to newer customers in a stepped way, allowing them to explore this new exciting challenge at their own pace. The full deck-building experience remains present of course in our Championship and Relic formats as well, meaning Warhammer Underworlds Gnarlwood is a great hobby purchase for every customer who walks in your store.
Lastly, the new warbands in this set will also have rules for use in games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar, meaning there’s opportunities to cross-promote Warhammer Underworlds Gnarlwood to customers who are enjoying any of your Warhammer Age of Sigmar products for either Slaves to Darkness or the Soulblight Gravelords factions.
In Relation to Other Products:
Existing customers and fans of Warhammer Underworlds may want to pick up the two Warhammer Underworlds products that launch at the same time as Nethermaze, Rivals of Nethermaze features the two warbands from the Warhammer Underworlds: Nethermaze boxed game.
