The best businesses at helping Games Workshop reach its fans are independent shops like yours. Find out how to become a Warhammer stockist here.

[This article is specifically for our UK readership]

When an independent business joins the Games Workshop Retailer Network they’re connecting with a FTSE250 games company with an incredible history.

We’ve been leading the way in tabletop gaming and miniatures for almost 50 years now and have just had our best year yet. Our Retailer Network is a big part of that. Let us explain…

A little bit of history

Games Workshop started life in 1975 with its founders selling games directly from their homes in London. From there the company grew, working with independent retailers, and opening a small – and then a large – chain of shops around the United Kingdom.

Today, Games Workshop has over 500 stores around the world, and thousands of independent stores that range from the model shops and toy shops you might expect to bookstores, newsagents and games shops. These independent retailers have been (and continue to be) instrumental to our success.

Last year, for example, our Retailer Network was responsible for the majority of our  £350 million turnover for the financial year up to 30 May 2021 – an £80 million increase on the 2019-2020 period. A staggering £200 million of sales came through our Retailer Network, up 31% compared to the previous year.

Our Retailer Network

The Games Workshop Retailer Network is the engine behind these numbers. Sales to independent stockists are the largest part of our business, growing by 31% in 2020-2021 compared to the previous year as we welcomed new partners on board. We supply our network with an easy to manage range of our fastest selling products, built at our own factory in Nottingham and backed by physical and digital support (guidance, promotional packs, images and logos).
