Our Games Systems

Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar

Our two main gaming systems are Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Warhammer 40,000 is our most popular and fastest-selling product range. It features heavily in our Stockist Ranges, which are designed to make stocking our products easy and drive a great return for value. The Best Sellers Foundation and Best Sellers Extra Box 200 ranges include many of our best-selling Warhammer 40,000 products, with Games Workshop’s iconic Space Marines heavily featured.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar is our best-selling fantasy miniatures game, and recently celebrated the launch of its 4th Edition that introduced the Spearhead game mode (Spearhead being a brand new, simpler, faster way to play Age of Sigmar). Just like Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar products are a substantial part of the Stockist Best Seller Ranges, and a must for any retailer wanting to enhance the return on their business investment in Warhammer.

For both Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar, your Account Manager can assist with in-store activities, including introductory setups. Both also have an extensive range of specialised starter products for new customers.

Warhammer Underworlds

Warhammer Underworlds is Game Workshop’s small format miniatures board game that combines both miniatures and playing cards into one game. The ’pick up and play’ Rivals format, allows players to get into the game easily. The nature of the game makes it great for in-store gaming, with a thriving event and tournament scene. Over 250,000 games have been sold to date; and its quick play, simple rules, and low model count have made it a favourite for in-store activity as well as ‘lunchtime’ style play.

Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game

A highly popular game since its appearance in 2001 alongside the Academy award-winning films, the Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game allows enthusiasts to collect and play in Tolkien’s world as shown in the books and films. Now with the newly renewed interest in the IP, following the announcement of a new edition, the Middle-Earth Strategy Battle Game is as popular as it has ever been. The range is easy to stock, with a dispenser focusing on the most popular lines.

Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team and Warhammer Age of Sigmar Warcry

Both Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar have smaller skirmish games set in the backgrounds to their worlds. The latest version of Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team also incorporates both cooperative and solo play. Skirmish games offer a smaller-scale experience (in terms of table space required and the number of miniatures required), and a shorter playtime. As such they are often favourites for in-store gaming and popular with those wanting a miniatures game that can easily be played quickly.

Warhammer Quest

The Warhammer board games are very popular, and as board games offer a different kind of product offer to our other ranges, including co-op and solo play. A ‘complete game in a box’ is a great product line to sell, particularly to those who love the worlds of Warhammer but are looking for something other than miniature games. Warhammer Quest has so far appeared both in Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar settings and has been enormously popular every time.

Blood Bowl

Blood Bowl is one of Games Workshop’s oldest games and is still a favourite for its exciting rules and light-hearted, but chaotic, approach to a tabletop sports game. Blood Bowl is very popular for in-store and event gaming given its accessible nature, its format and short playtime. Its condensed range and enduring appeal make it a popular line to stock. Blood Bowl is a boost to any retailer’s offer.

Warhammer: The Old World

2024 saw the release of Warhammer: The Old World, a return to Games Workshop’s oldest setting. The gameplay is typcially regarded as for more experienced players than the Age of Sigmar games, as it provides a deep and complex regiment-style game with a product range that includes a variety of classic armies.

Warhammer: The Horus Heresy

The Horus Heresy game utilises a setting from the Warhammer 40,000 universe’s ‘past’. Similarly to Warhammer: The Old World, although the miniatures are a similar scale to the more popular game (in this case Warhammer 40,000), it is considered a more advanced and complex game.

Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Legions Imperialis, Adeptus Titanicus and Aeronautica

Legions Imperialis is one of our newer game systems that uses a different miniatures scale to our other games. These ’Epic’ scale miniatures allow customers to collect large armies; including masses of infantry and far larger machines rarely seen elsewhere in our product offer. These massed armies can be used in battle in the Legions Imperialis game, but also the larger miniatures in this range (the Knights and Titans) can be used in games of Adeptus Titanicus, whilst the flying miniatures can also be used by the Aeronautica aerial combat system.

Necromunda

Necromunda is another game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Whilst it is a skirmish game with a low miniature count like Kill Team, it’s a more complex game with a range suited to more specialist stores with larger customer bases.

And don’t forget!

Whilst we’ve covered game systems here, we shouldn’t forget that Citadel Paints are a major revenue generator for our retail partners; the low price point repeat purchase products being the ideal complimentary product for the Best Seller Foundation’s Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar product lines. A paint rack is a must for all specialist stores.
