The Warhammer Effect - UK Reseller Success Stories

There are a variety of benefits to stocking Warhammer products, from licensed brand recognition to increased footfall. Listen to these success stories.

There are a variety of benefits to becoming a reseller, from licensed brand recognition to increased footfall. But don’t just take our word for it.

Game Galaxy is a video games shop in Consett, County Durham. They’ve found that stocking Warhammer complements and expands on their core gaming business. “From a retailer’s point of view, Warhammer is a very good product,” says Nik, the manager at Game Galaxy. “It’s got a good margin and there are few returns. It’s an easy sale.”

How easy? If you have a physical retail store, you can typically join the Games Workshop Retailer Network and receive your first product delivery in just a few days. “I got in touch and had [Warhammer] in stock, and the supporting POS, within the week,” says Nik.

You also don’t need to know anything about Warhammer to try it out. As part of the Retailer Network, you’ll work with a dedicated account manager who can advise you on which of our easy-to-stock bestseller ranges are best-suited to your store. Shipped from the Games Workshop warehouse, stock can also be quickly refreshed as you sell it.

“The account manager monitors my stock and lets me know what I need,” explains Nik. “It couldn’t be easier.”

The Warhammer hobby has a broad appeal

Warhammer is suited to a range of stores, from video games shops like Game Galaxy to book and comic shops, music/DVD stores, even newsagents and corner shops.

Warhammer has a broad fan base and it appeals to adults and kids alike.

In the town of Barrow-in-Furness, Heaths Ltd is a long-established business that sells a mix of stationery, office supplies and toys, as well arts and craft goods. Manager Jayne has found success at Heaths with the local tabletop gaming club, who she says “enjoy being able to buy their products locally.”

Again, Warhammer fits neatly into the product range at Heaths, alongside its toys, board games and modelling kits. In addition to buying and building miniatures, fans also love to paint and play with them, providing extra opportunities for sales and customer interaction.

“We hold a couple of painting competitions every year,” says Jayne. “They generate a lot of interest in the products… “All the stuff I need [to run these] is provided by Games Workshop, and any guidance I need comes from my account manager.”

Retailers get dedicated help and sales support

Every store that joins the Games Workshop Retailer Network has access to a dedicated and knowledgeable account manager to help them get the most out of the sales partnership.

“It’s so easy to work with Games Workshop,” says Jayne. “I talk to my account manager each week and quickly get whatever I need to order.” From new Warhammer 40,000 miniatures to Citadel paints and brushes, “the set ranges make it really easy to keep the core stock up to date, and my account manager advises me on any extras.”

For Heaths, becoming a Warhammer reseller has definitely been good for business. “The new customers who come in for Games Workshop stay to buy the other products in our range,” says Jayne.
